Stream Channel Restoration
The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority retained us to provide plans for the restoration of a channelized reach of the Upper West Don River as it flows to Rupert’s Pond. The design parameters called for the naturalization of the channel and the reintroduction of the former stream meander pattern. Through various erosion control and bioremediation techniques, productive habitat was restored and overall water quality was improved. The phased implementation by TRCA was completed in 2005.
