Condominium Development
The firm began work on this magnificent waterfront condominium project in Collingwood, Ontario in the spring of 2003. The historically low water levels in Georgian Bay posed an interesting challenge with this project. With Bay levels fluctuating as much as a meter, it was imperative that environmental features associated with the shoreline were respected and preserved as part of the development approval. In addition, protective armouring of the shore had to be designed in such a way that adequate protection from severe storm events was provided. The aesthetic focus associated with easterly views had to be sympathetic to the emerging flood plain vegetation communities that currently blanket the environmentally significant shore zone.
