Golf Course Design
Very few designers, unless trained in golf course architecture, ever get to design their own private golf course. We are this fortunate. Thunder Highlands is a private 5-hole championship-caliber private golf course situated in a heavily treed maple forest and perched high on a stoney boulder plain of the old Lake Algonquin shoreline overlooking Georgian Bay. Thunder Highlands is unique in every respect. It met all of the preservation and habitat protection criteria to receive municipal approval following a 2-year design and consultation exercise. The result can only be appreciated by playing it. Don’t venture there unless you are physically fit and willing to make a donation to the cause. There are no green fees if you call ahead. Take a lot of balls!
