Residential Development
The Simcoe Shores Development is a planned infill community located on the shoreline of Lake Simcoe in the City of Barrie, an hour’s drive north of Toronto. This project was developed in two phases between 1998 and 2005.
This was a very challenging project, given the unique combination of environmental site features that include environmentally protected forest, the Hewitt’s Creek corridor and lakeshore environments, all of which carry significant preservation policies. In addition to integrating single-family residential housing with the challenging topography, the design team incorporated storm water management facilities and several neigbourhood parks within the site. Parkland features with a recreational trail system connect this unique development to the greater Bayshore secondary plan area.
